Interior:
This traditional home with a dryvit exterior was designed for Sheila & Cary in the Memorial area of Houston. They had a deep, irregular lot with very little frontage. To further compound the design problems, there was a huge, beautiful oak tree that HAD to be saved. We consulted with a tree specialist and he marked off the area that could not be encroached upon, and the house was built around it. The only alarming time I had with these wonderful clients was when Cary (a successful financial wizard) remembered working as a roofer's helper when he was in college, and wanted to make the roof almost flat so he could walk on it if he ever needed to replace shingles! But Sheila and I joined forces and we prevailed and so preserved the integrity of the design! |
